Hi, I am the Founder of Wix SEO Tools. About 8 years ago I completed my very first Wix website. I completed the Wix SEO Wiz, sat back and waited for my stunning new site to fly up the Google Rankings. It was a long wait... very long... in fact if I remember rightly, I barely made much of an impression! What is Wix SEO?
Okay let's start with the basics. SEO is the industry standard term for 'Search Engine Optimization'. To put simply, it means the process for optimizing a website to increase its visibility within the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). When we talk about SERPS we are of course referring to the likes of Google, Bing and other such Search Engines. Wix SEO therefore refers to the same process but specifically for Wix websites only.

It's me again... the founder of Wix SEO Tools. I'm going to let you into a little secret. You DO NOT have to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars each month on SEO to improve your Google ranking! Does it help to do this? Yes of course! But here's what most SEO agencies are not telling you... most small to medium sized business websites are set up to fail miserably on Google. It's not intentional - but it is a fact. And this is where it gets really interesting. By modifying a combination of elements in any website (onsite SEO) you can see drastic improvements in your Google ranking. And I am not talking about moving 1 or 2 places... I mean you can move pages ahead, in some instances!

Wix templates are not SEO friendly!

Okay so let me attempt to explain this a little more as I know how daunting and frustrating it can be to try and tackle SEO. One clear example that springs to mind about websites being set up to fail on Google is in respect of heading tags. In order to rank efficiently on Google you must have well structured heading tags throughout your site with your keywords in them. Most people designing their own site on Wix will not even check the structure of the heading tags as one would quite rightly assume that an official Wix Template should be set up correctly... right? WRONG! 99% of templates I have used or analyzed have had really poor heading tag structures that will only confuse Google and have a negative impact on ranking. And not only that. Many sites created by paid professionals on sites such as Fiverr and Freelancer also have poorly structured heading tags. I guess the designers feel that this is technically an SEO component and therefore not in their remit to fix it. Something I wholeheartedly disagree with!

How onsite SEO can propel your site higher on Google!

This is one example of how making amendments to your site can improve your Google ranking.
